Essential

ORVIA uses an essential preference cookie named orvia_cookie_preferences to remember your cookie choices for up to 180 days. It does not enable analytics or advertising by itself.

The flagship is designed so optional analytics must stay off until you actively choose analytics and a verified analytics service has been configured.

Not currently used

Marketing

The ORVIA Oversight flagship does not currently use advertising or cross-site marketing cookies.

WHAT COUNTS

Cookies are only part of the picture.

UK privacy rules also apply to similar storage and access technologies, including local storage, tracking pixels, device fingerprinting and some scripts or tags. ORVIA applies the same control principle to those technologies: if they are not genuinely necessary, they should not be switched on before the required choice has been made.

OUR RULE

No hidden tracking behind a decorative banner.

A cookie banner only means something if the technology behind it respects the decision. ORVIA's consent manager publishes the visitor's preference state so any future analytics or marketing integration can be gated against that choice.

Essential means necessary

We do not label convenience or advertising as essential simply to avoid asking.

Optional starts off

Analytics and marketing choices default to off until the visitor actively changes them.

Choices are reversible

The footer keeps a permanent Cookie settings route so the visitor can reopen the controls.

Changes trigger review

If ORVIA introduces a new tracking purpose or provider, the cookie information and consent version should be reviewed before release.

ORVIA's approach is designed around the UK rules for cookies and similar storage/access technologies. Those rules require organisations to explain what is being used and why, and to obtain valid consent where no exemption applies.
